The Parent Project, my webseries that I’ve spent nearly every spare moment on for the past year-and-a-half, got cancelled at Channel 101 last night.  How do I feel?  Oddly, okay about it.

I think I got all the negative feelings out of my system last month, when I got through by just one vote.  The writing was on the wall - I would have to do something spectacular and different to stay in the running next month.  What I delivered I think was entertaining, but not close to different and spectacular, and the votes reflected that.

Will I regret not being able to end the show the way I wanted to?  Of course.  Anybody who says they lived life without regrets is probably a sociopath.  But that regret is a tiny one, overwhelmed by how happy I am with the work I’ve done and how thankful I am towards all the people who have helped me along the way.

What’s next?  I think it’s time to study up - watch more movies, learn some programs, try new techniques.  Who knows?  I may even do a few more web only Parent Projects… I have a conversation between my dad and my grandmother that’s sitting on my hard drive, begging to be edited.
